According to Safe Kids Worldwide, more than half of car seats are not used or installed
correctly. Monroe County Health Department is hosting free car seat check events to help
caregivers learn how to keep children safe in the car. These events will be run by our two
nationally certified Child Passenger Safety Technicians and are free for anyone to attend. Our
technicians can help to select the appropriate car seat for your child, ensure proper harness fit,
install your car seat correctly, and know when to move to the next seat.
Events will be held at the Monroe County Health Department at 315 W. Oak Street in Sparta on
the following dates and times:
- Tuesday 8/26, 3-5:30pm
- Tuesday 9/9, 3-5:30pm

- Thursday 9/25, 11am-2pm at the ADRC/Health Department Open House
- Tuesday 10/14, 3-5:30pm
