Carole Jean Peasley, age 90, passed away peacefully on March 11, 2025, at Black
River Memorial Hospital surrounded by loving family. Born on May 4, 1934, to George
and Laura (Simonson) Gee, Carole entered the world with a beautiful spirit and spark
that shined bright for nine decades. She graduated from Hixton High School in 1952.
Carole Gee and Peter Peasley were married August 16, 1952 at St. Johns Lutheran
Church in Black River Falls, Wisconsin. Together they were blessed with 6 children and
over 72 years of marriage.
It was only fitting that the word “care” was woven into her name, Carole; reflecting a
lifetime of the way she selflessly cared for, and about, others. Carole loved hosting get-
togethers, celebrations, family reunions and cooking for family and friends. No one ever
stopped in for a visit without having a hot cup of coffee and something to eat! She
especially enjoyed baking, canning, freezing, making jams, applesauce and pickles.
Her homemade noodles and baked beans were holiday family favorites. She loved
traveling with Peter, family and friends (in one of their many fifth-wheel RVs), the Green
Bay Packers, music, and most of all kicking up her heels and dancing with her husband,
Peter. She was a hard worker and always said that ‘any job worth doing is worth doing
well!’ She worked for 28 years as a server at Castle Hill, sold Avon and held other jobs
in the community. She cooked and served many times for funerals of fellow members of
the Evangelical Lutheran Church. Everything Carole did, she did with a smile and a
generous heart. She was one of a kind!
Carole is survived by her loving husband Peter Peasley; daughters Susan Horst,
Rebecca Peasley, Julie Collins (Dennis); sons James Peasley, Donald Peasley (Jodi)
and Michael Peasley; grandchildren Tracy Madvig (Bob), Sara Darling (Scott), Casey
Collins, Coleman Collins (Caitlyn), Carlton Collins (Ali), Justin Callisto (Cyndy),
Stephanie Skager (Scott), Brian Horst (Tammie), Tammy Brooks; and great-
grandchildren Clayton, Wyatt and Roman Madvig; Jasmine, Russell and Rory Collins;
Landen, Tyler and Kadence Callisto and Lennon Skager; Kiley and Jeremy Horst and
Haley Brooks. She is also survived by her sisters Donna Dolesy (Fred) and Laura
Gonia; as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents, sister Gloria Nelson, brother Fred Gee, son-
in-law Jerry Horst and great-grandson Phillip ‘Daws’ Skager.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the staff of Black River Memorial Hospital
for the exceptional and compassionate care they provided.
A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, March 23rd at the Black River Falls
American Legion Post 200. Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. until time of service at 3:00
p.m. All those in attendance are invited to stay for live music and a luncheon following
the service.
In lieu of memorials, the family kindly requests donations to The Jackson County Animal
Shelter.
