National Ag Day will be celebrated March 24, highlighting the theme “Together We Grow.” Officials are encouraging residents across Wisconsin to thank farmers and agricultural workers for their role in producing food, fuel and fiber.

The state’s agriculture industry contributes an estimated $116.3 billion to Wisconsin’s economy, making it one of the state’s leading industries.

The Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection says it continues to support producers through several initiatives, including $5 million in grants for hunger relief organizations through the Food Security and Wisconsin Products Grant Program. Additional funding will also support the Tribal Elder Community Food Box Program to improve food security for Tribal members.

Officials say Wisconsin farmers are also working to protect soil and water through the Producer-Led Watershed Protection Grant Program, which provides about $1 million each year to farmer-led conservation groups.

State agriculture leaders also highlighted efforts to respond to animal health challenges, including Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza, with more than 38,000 milk samples tested since May 2025 and only one positive result reported.

Meanwhile, Wisconsin’s agriculture exports continue to play a major role in the economy, totaling $3.97 billion to 151 countries in 2024.

Officials encourage residents to celebrate National Ag Day by supporting local farmers and purchasing Wisconsin-made products. 🌾🚜
