Charles (Chuck) Sidney Jensen, 84, of Hixton, WI died December 22, 2025 at Black River Falls Memorial Hospital following a recent cancer diagnosis. Chuck was born June 8, 1941 in Black River Falls, WI to Sidney and Helen (Erickson) Jensen.

Chuck was a proud, lifelong resident of Hixton and attended grades 1-12 in Hixton graduating in 1959. After high school, Chuck worked for the Jackson County Sheriff Department, first as a dispatcher and then as a patrol officer. Then, Chuck joined the Black River Falls City Police working alongside Al Young.

Chuck married Mary Ann Krueger on June 12, 1965 at Evangelical Lutheran Church in Black River Falls. The couple bought property just outside of Hixton adjacent to Mary Ann’s parents.

Chuck went into business for himself and opened a service station, a self-serve gas station, and fuel oil delivery business in Hixton that would later evolve into a towing business and become known as Jensen Oil and Tire. He was devoted to his business and even had the station’s business line wired into the home bedroom and a CB radio in the kitchen so between Chuck and his family answering the business phone, he rarely missed a call. Chuck was always in his uniform and even wore it at holiday get togethers. He was often out when road conditions were at their poorest helping stranded travelers on I-94. Chuck and Mary Ann raised two daughters and enjoyed summer weekends at the Jensen family cabin in Hatfield having a good time with family and friends. Drinks and dinner at Palm’s Supper Club was always a given no matter the time of year. Chuck also enjoyed snowmobiling and going fast, maybe a little too much, as one of his snowmobile trips to Eagle River, WI ended with some broken ribs.

After Chuck sold his business and retired in 2006, he kept listening to the police scanner which was always on loudly in multiple rooms of the house. Chuck enjoyed watching Nascar races and spending time on his John Deere tractor whether it be mowing or clearing trails on the property. Chuck’s favorite daily ritual was to go to “coffee” often twice a day to shake dice and socialize with his friends. Chuck was very proud of both of his granddaughters and he and Mary Ann went to as many of their sporting events as they could.

Chuck was elected to the Jackson County Board from 2012 to 2024 and served on multiple committees during his more than a decade tenure. In March 2024, Chuck received a certification of appreciation from the Law Enforcement Committee. In business and life, Chuck put helping people first and he always gave more than he asked for in return.

Chuck was a loving husband, father, and grandfather and a loyal friend to many and his quick wit, infectious laugh, and kindness will be greatly missed.

Chuck is survived by his wife of 60 years, Mary Ann (Krueger) Jensen of Hixton; daughters Heidi Tubbs (Scott) of Hixton and Heather Jensen (Matthew Divens) of Floodwood, MN; granddaughters Hannah and Alyssa Tubbs of Hixton; brother Edward (Kay) Jensen of Hixton; brother-in-law Greg (Annette) Krueger of Hixton; niece Kim (Joel) Harkner of Millston, WI; nephew Andrew (Shawnna) Krueger of Hixton.

Chuck had many special friends over the years including Dan Esser, Howard and Mary Ripp, his best friend since grade school, Gaylen Rogness, his coffee friends (Chuck Embretson, Steve Kirschner, Jim Olson, Brian Langan, Tony Lien, Rocky Jarvis, Mike (Murf) Muth, Marie Dunnigan, Randy Lindberg, Phineas Schrock, his brother Ed), and many more who are no longer with us.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Sidney and Helen Jensen, in-laws, Harvey and Ruth Krueger, and a niece, Kari Krueger.

Visitation will be Friday, January 2, 2026 from 4-7pm and on Saturday, January 3, 2026 from 10:00-11:00am at Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Hixton. Funeral services for Chuck will be Saturday, January 3, 2026 from 11am-12pm at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Hixton. Burial will be at the Trinity Rest Cemetery in Hixton following the funeral service.

Chuck’s family expresses appreciation to the medical staff in the Intensive Care Unit at the Black River Falls Memorial Hospital who provided end of life care.
