Dennis Ray Yeskie, of Hixton, Wisconsin, passed away on April 3, 2025, surrounded by
family and friends, doing one of his favorite things—listening to a baseball game. He
was 74 years old.
Born in LaCrosse, Wisconsin on March 4, 1951, Dennis was the second of four children
born to Robert (Bob) and Virginia Yeskie.
Dennis grew up in Hixton and attended elementary school there, before graduating from
Black River Falls High School. It was during his high school years that he met the love
of his life, Joan Steine, a beauty queen who was crowned Miss Jackson County 1971-1972
Dennis and Joan married on July 8, 1972, and shared 52 years of love,
adventure, and partnership.
After high school, Dennis proudly served his country in the U.S. Army, which took him to
several locations around the world. Upon returning home, he and Joan began building
their family. They were blessed with a son, Nathan, and later a daughter, Kristina.
In 1986, Dennis and Joan relocated to Carson City, Nevada, where they built a life
together for the next 39 years. There, they co-founded All American Heating and Air, a
business they ran with integrity, hard work, and a sense of pride for 38 years. Dennis
was known for his strong work ethic, often meeting clients with a handshake and a
smile, along with a commitment to excellence.
Outside of his career, Dennis found joy in his hobbies. He loved taking hunting trips to
Wyoming, fishing trips to British Columbia, playing rounds of golf with friends, traveling
with his family to Lake Tahoe and Omaha, Nebraska, and spending time with all of his
dogs. Above all, Dennis cherished spending time with his granddaughters, Avery and
Olivia, who brought him immense happiness.
Dennis was a man who was a fierce competitor on the fast-pitch softball field, a sport he
loved deeply. His lifelong friendships, especially with those from Club 95, were a
testament to the deep bonds he formed with those around him. He was a man who
enjoyed the company of others, always making those around him feel valued and heard.
He was proud of the family he helped build and the extended family he was part of for
so many years. He is survived by his beloved wife Joan; his children, Nathan (Brittney)
and Kristina (John); his granddaughters, Avery and Olivia; his brother Tim (Karen); his
sister Christine; sisters-in-law Beth Yeskie, Rita Bernette, Judie (Tom) Harkner, Mary
Hansen; his brother-in-law Greg (Becky) Steine, and numerous loved nieces and
nephews. Dennis was preceded in death by his parents, Robert (Bob) and Virginia
Yeskie; brother, Greg Yeskie; In-laws Spencer and Verna Steine; brothers-in-law David
