Doris Ann Pronschinske, 95, formerly of Waumandee and Arcadia, passed away peacefully,
surrounded by her loving family, on February 23, 2026, at Sauer Health Care in Winona, MN.
Doris was born on December 7, 1930, at home in the quiet countryside of Bohri’s Valley, Buffalo County,
to Emil and Edith (Katzbahn) Schwertel. On September 12, 1950, she was joyfully united in marriage to
Alois Pronschinske at OLPH Catholic Church in Arcadia, WI, beginning a devoted and enduring
partnership.
Doris was a dedicated and hardworking gardener, faithfully providing for her family; a talented and
meticulous seamstress who lovingly sewed her own elegant wedding dress, her bridesmaids’ dresses,
and countless cherished garments for her children; an enthusiastic and accomplished bowler who
proudly achieved a perfect 300 game; a skilled and creative quilter who generously shared her talents
with friends, taught eager students at WTC, and earned both a red and blue ribbon at the WI State Fair;
a dependable and committed school bus driver for 40 years, proudly owning her own bus and faithfully
driving for the School District of Arcadia; and a devoted member of St. Boniface Altar Society, serving
capably as president for many years. Above all, her steadfast love for her family and her deep, abiding
faith were of utmost importance. Proverbs 31:10–31 beautifully reflects her faithful Christian walk
through life, as she remained selfless, compassionate, and generous with her many gifts.
She is lovingly survived by her children: Michael (Sue), Ronald (Kim), James, Lori Wozney, Marcel
(Karla), Bruce (Pam Arneson), Irene (Ken Kalama), Gail (Lisa Luedtke), Janice (Kurt) Haines; 19 cherished
grandchildren; 15 beloved great-grandchildren, with another precious blessing on the way; sister Ruth
Pronschinske; sister-in-law Ramona Schwertel; brother-in-law George Narvaes; and numerous dear
nieces and nephews.
Doris was preceded in death by her beloved parents; her devoted husband, Alois; her dear son,
Andrew; her brother, Gerald; her daughter-in-law, Diana; and her brothers- and sisters-in-law: Roman
Pronschinske; Richard & Anna Pronschinske; Antoinette & Robert Bork; Sylvan & Marion Pronschinske;
Victor & Rose Pronschinske; Urban & Esther Pronschinske; Cleo & Raymond Wojchik; Anthony & Clarice
Pronschinske; and Carol Narvaes.
Pallbearers will be grandsons Alex Pronschinske, Jeremy Pronschinske, Adam Wozney, Drew
Pronschinske, Lucas Haines, and Brady Pronschinske. Honorary pallbearers will be granddaughters
Marsha Tweedy and Anna Pronschinske.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 3, 2026, at St. Boniface
Catholic Church in Waumandee, with Reverend Kyle Laylan officiating and Reverend Albert
concelebrating. Family and friends may call from 11:00 a.m. until the time of Mass. Burial will follow in
the church cemetery, with a fellowship luncheon afterward in Rippley Hall. In lieu of flowers, memorials
are preferred to St. Boniface Catholic School.
