A fatal crash closed eastbound Interstate 94 in Monroe County Tuesday night.

The Wisconsin State Patrol says the crash happened around 7:49 p.m. at mile marker 141 near Tomah. Authorities report a passenger vehicle and a semi collided, and both vehicles became fully engulfed in flames.

The driver of the passenger vehicle suffered fatal injuries. No other information has been released at this time.

All eastbound lanes of I-94 were shut down, with traffic rerouted to County Road EW and U.S. Highway 12.

Multiple local and county agencies responded to the scene. The crash remains under investigation.
