On May 9, 2025, at about 9:24 PM, the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a motorcycle crash on County Road N near Beck Road in the Township of Franklin.
At the scene, Deputies located a crashed motorcycle and lone injured subject. Based on the evidence on the scene, the motorcycle was traveling on County Road N when it lost control and crashed. The highway was open to the public but under construction. It was believed that the operator was not wearing a helmet.
The motorcycle operator was identified as Gary Lien, age 67, of Taylor. He was transported from the scene via helicopter for further medical care. On May 13, 2025, the Sheriff’s Office was notified that the operator had died.
The Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Taylor Fire Department, Taylor First Responders, and the Black River Falls Ambulance service.
This case is under investigation.
