On June 30, 2025, at about 11:07 PM, a Deputy with the Sheriff’s Office observed a speeding
violation on State Highway 54 in the Township of Brockway. During the traffic stop initiation,
the vehicle fled at a high rate of speed. The vehicle pursuit continued for just over a mile before
the suspect lost control and entered the ditch.
The driver, Dustin Torkelson, age 37, of Black River Falls, surrendered to the Deputy without
further incident. Torkelson was booked into the Jackson County Jail on the felony charge of
Fleeing an Officer and held on a Probation/Parole hold.
