The future of Holmen’s Kornfest is back under consideration. On Thursday, the Holmen American Legion announced the longtime festival would be canceled this year due to rising costs, declining attendance, and a shortage of volunteers. Kornfest has been fully funded by the Legion for more than 60 years. Officials say the only profits relied largely on beer tent sales, which have continued to drop over the past years. After an outpouring of community support, Legion leaders say they’re now reconsidering the decision and are asking for donations, sponsors, and volunteers to help keep the festival alive.
