History was made this week for the Jackson County Fair at the Wisconsin Association of Fairs Convention. For the first time ever, the county brought home two major statewide awards. Antique Superintendent Mary Cooley received the Wisconsin Association of Fairs VIP Award, which honors outstanding non-board fair supporters and is given to just four people statewide. In addition, the Jackson County EMS Association was named Volunteer Group of the Year, the only group in Wisconsin to receive that distinction. The award recognizes first responders from County Line, Hatfield, Hixton, Melrose, Taylor, and Black River Falls Ambulance for their volunteer service to the fair.
