Jeannine was born May 29, 1931 in Douglas County to E. Hjalmer and Ada A. Johnson. Following school years, she entered a secretarial career in MN and CA.
She was united in marriage May 7, 1955, to SSgt. Andrew C. Lund, USAF, at Mather AFB, CA. He preceded her in death on October 15, 2003, in West Plains, MO.
During Andrew’s military service, they resided in numerous locations. Their union was blessed with two children, Sharol and Andrew Jr. In 1971 they moved to the Black River Falls, WI area. Jeannine and her husband relocated to the Missouri Ozarks in 1991, settling near West Plains. Her 5 grandchildren were always dear to her. Family get-togethers now and then proved to be special events. In 2011, she moved to Black River Falls, WI to be nearer family.
Music was always a very enjoyable part of Jeannine’s life, as she participated in a wide variety of venues throughout the years. Piano playing, also some organ, was a constant blessing along her journey, wherever that might lead. Sewing was another lifelong interest, beginning with 4H projects. Later, making quilts for family members became a delightful venture. Volunteering became a most rewarding experience, especially in West Plains and later in Black River Falls.
Through the years, she was active and involved in many church activities with worship, praise, and thanksgiving. Currently a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran, West Plains, MO.
Her beautiful country, America, “from the mountains…to the oceans”, land that she loved, forever was an inspiration during her daily living.
Survivors are her daughter, Sharol (Zachary) Wittke, of Sparta, WI; Andrew Jr. (Joanne) Lund, of Tacoma, WA; five grandchildren, Seth (Laura) Wittke, Zara, Wittke, Chemarin Wittke, Andrew (Taila) Lund III, and Matthew (Tina) Lund; great-grandchildren, Lissa and Evan Lund, Ava and Marlo Lund, and Ada Wittke; and other nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Andrew; her parents; brothers, E. Donovan, L. LeRoy, and Weldon.
