The American Red Cross is urging people to roll up their sleeves this April and help save lives by donating blood or platelets.
Officials say the need for blood never takes a break, and donations now can help ensure hospitals are prepared in the weeks ahead. Both regular donors and first-time participants are encouraged to give.
April is also National Volunteer Month, and the Red Cross is recognizing the critical role donors and volunteers play in patient care. With no substitute for blood, every donation makes a difference.
To schedule an appointment, visit RedCrossBlood.org, call 1-800-RED CROSS, or use the Red Cross Blood Donor App.
As an added incentive, those who donate by April 12 will receive a limited-edition Red Cross and Life is Good T-shirt while supplies last. Donors who give between April 13th and 30th will receive a 15-dollar e-gift card.
The Red Cross says now is a great time to give and make a lifesaving impact.
