Kenneth J. Korpal

Kenneth J. Korpal, 76, of Fountain City, died on Saturday, January 24, 2026, at Emplify Health-
Gundersen Health System in La Crosse.
Ken was born in Arcadia on December 28, 1949, to Everett and Bernice (Guza) Korpal. After
graduating from Arcadia High School, Ken enlisted and served dutifully in the Army National
Guard for 6 years. He was united in marriage to Jacquelyn Brandes on April 17, 1971, at St.
Stanislaus Catholic Church in Arcadia, and the couple was blessed with two children: Kenneth
and Angela.
Ken was employed with Boelter Industries in Winona, where he worked until his retirement. In
his younger years, Ken liked to ride his motorcycle and drive muscle cars. Ken loved to hunt for
deer, whether it be with a bow or a rifle. He was an avid fisherman, especially for muskies, and
a fan of the Green Bay Packers. Ken enjoyed all of the good Western shows and listening to 70’s
and 80’s country music.
Ken is survived by his children: Ken (Billie Jo) Korpal of Fountain City and Angie (Jeremy) Wood
of Centerville; grandchildren: Kristin (Josh) Castillo, Heather Korpal, Jessica Doerr, Bailee (Josue
Torres) Wood, Alexyss Kiedrowski, and Maxx Kiedrowski; great-grandchildren: Ezra, Emmitt and
Schuyler Castillo, and Hendryx Torres; brothers: Dennis (Rose) Korpal of Arcadia, Don Korpal of
Arcadia, Randy (Heidi) Korpal of Rochester; sister: Cassie (James) Losinski of Arcadia; brothers-
in-law: Donald Brandes of NV, Richard Brandes of Fountain City, Steven (June) Brandes of La
Crescent, MN; and sister-in-law: Toni (Allen) Kouba of NV.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Jaci, in 2023; parents-in-law; brother-in-law:
Gary (Patsy) Brandes; sisters-in-law: Barbara Brandes, Li Ann Korpal and Rita Brandes; and
nephews: Jason Losinski and Adam Kiedrowski.
Family and friends are welcome for visitation from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Tuesday, February 3,
2026, at the Wozney-Killian Funeral Home, Arcadia, where there will be a 1 p.m. prayer service
officiated by Father Kyle Laylan. Burial with Military Honors presented by the Tickfer-Erickson
American Legion Post 17 will be in St. Stanislaus Cemetery, rural Arcadia. A celebration of Ken’s
