Martha A. (Peterson) Fox

Martha A. (Peterson) Fox passed away peacefully at her home in rural Northfield on September 9, 2025. She was born on November 13, 1945, in Black River Falls, the daughter of Norman and Esther (Hanson) Peterson.
In 1968, Martha married Lloyd A. Fox. Together they were blessed with a son, Shane L. Fox, and twins who passed away at birth. Lloyd passed away in 1977, and Shane in 1994 at the age of 23. Martha often reflected, “we lived a lifetime in those years.”
In 1991, she married William C. “Bill” Fox, and the couple made their home in rural Osseo until Bill’s passing in 2015.
Martha was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Shane; infant twins; and her husbands, Lloyd and Bill, along with many other dear family members and loved ones.
She is survived by her sister, Grace, and her beloved dog, Dollie Fox, as well as many family members and friends who will miss her dearly.
Martha loved country living, time with friends, hunting, and her horses. She was a hard worker her whole life and wore many hats such as farmer, AQHA enthusiast, NIC auction leader, and many others. She would say that she enjoyed them all.
A celebration of Martha’s life will be held at Rustic Haven in Northfield on Friday, September 26, from 3-6 p.m. Interment will take place at Little Norway Lutheran Church in Black River Falls, Wisconsin.
The family extends heartfelt thanks to her close friends, family, and St. Croix Hospice for their loving care and support.
