Marvin O. Thomann, age 77 passed away on November 24, 2025 in the Dominican
Republic. He was born on October 11, 1948 in the Town of Brooklyn, Green County,
WI the son of Paul and Leona (Gilbertson) Thomann. Marvin attended the Attica
rural school and was confirmed at the Zwingli United Church of Christ-Monticello.
Marvin would attend Monticello High School until he began working on area farms
as a hired hand. He would go on to work at Baker Manufacturing, Varco-Pruden,
and Puriform. Marvin drove a semi-truck for truck for twenty-nine years until
retiring from truck driving to purchase a campground near Black River Falls on April
2, 2002. In 2007 he rebranded the campground to Camp NCN an adults’ only
campground. Since its beginning Camp NCN has become a popular destination and
a successful business venture for Marv.
Marvin is survived by his companion Sunita, brothers Alfred, Leo, and Raymond
Thomann, nephew Rodger, and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his mother Leona on November 26, 1987, father Paul
on September 20, 1988, sister-in-law Marcia Thomann on July 3, 2022, and sister-
in-law Carolyn Thomann passed on December 4, 2025.
A gathering will be held from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 10, 2026
at Torgerson’s Funeral Home, 408 N. Water St., Black River Falls, WI.
A memorial service will be held at 12:00 noon on Monday, January 12, 2026 at
Zwingli United Church of Christ, 416 E. Lake Ave., Monticello, WI with Rev. James
Iliff officiating. Inurnment will be in the Highland Cemetery, Monticello, WI.
The Zentner-Beal Funeral Home of New Glarus is assisting the family.
