The Wisconsin Department of Financial Institutions, along with Edvest 529 and the Wisconsin Coalition on Student Debt, is now accepting entries for the 2026 Money Smart Wisconsin Scholarship Contest. Graduating Wisconsin high school seniors have until March 6th, 2026, to submit an essay for a chance to earn a one-thousand-dollar scholarship toward college through an Edvest 529 account.
The contest encourages students planning to attend a Wisconsin college or university this fall to think about education costs, financial aid, and money management. Essays will be reviewed by members of DebtSmarts, with winners announced during Money Smart Wisconsin Week, April 6th through the 12th.
