A fatal crash occurred just after 5:00 p.m. on April 6 near the intersection of State Highway 33 and County Highway X in the Town of Portland, Monroe County. Authorities say a 2015 Harley Davidson motorcycle, traveling westbound, lost control on a curve. The 41-year-old male operator from Stoddard and his passenger were ejected and collided with an eastbound 2018 Chevrolet Cruze. Both were pronounced dead at the scene. No one in the Cruze was injured.
Names of the deceased are being withheld pending family notification. The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office is continuing its investigation, with assistance from multiple local and state agencies.
