Peter Lee Moe, 46, of Black River Falls, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully at his
home on May 8, 2025.
Peter was born on June 3, 1978, in Black River Falls, the beloved son of Bill and Sally
Moe. He was a proud graduate of Black River Falls High School and went on to attend
the University of Wisconsin–La Crosse.
In 2005, Peter started his life with his wife, Sarah Moe, and together they built a warm
and loving life filled with family, laughter, and deep community roots. Peter dedicated his
life to operating his family’s hardware store in downtown Black River Falls, where he
was a familiar and friendly face to generations of locals.
Peter was an active and cherished member of the community. From winning pie-eating
contests at the local fair to participating in countless fundraisers and town events, Peter
gave generously of his time and spirit. He had a great love for nature and the river, and
his competitive streak was well known—whether in family game nights, volleyball
leagues, or as the double dutch state champ.
Peter is survived by his loving wife, Sarah; his son, Hudson; stepchildren, Shawn and
Sharissa; his parents, Bill and Sally Moe; and his sisters, Traci, Jenny, and Kristin. He
leaves behind a wide circle of friends and extended family who will forever remember
his kindness, warmth, and dry humor.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 24, 2025, at Torgerson’s Funeral Home
in Black River Falls. The general public is welcome to attend a visitation between 12
p.m. and 4 p.m.
Peter is deeply missed but remains ever present in the hearts of all who knew and loved
him. He spread tremendous kindness, love, and support throughout his life. Though he
is now free from the burdens of the human body, his spirit and essence will always be
with us.
