Richard A. Trones, 86, of Black River Falls, Wis., passed away September 30, 2024, at
Meadowbrook Nursing Home.
He was born on April 21, 1938, in Black River Falls, and attended school there until his family
moved to North Dakota when he was 15 years old. He graduated from Tioga ND High School
and enlisted in the Air Force where he trained as a cryptographer. During that time, he met the
love of his life, Rosalie Kovacs, and they were married in 1959.
After being honorably discharged, Richard and Rosalie moved to North Dakota where he
subsequently trained to be a diesel mechanic. After working in North Dakota and Illinois, they
returned to North Dakota until Richard’s retirement. In 2014 they decided to move back to Black
River Falls.
Richard is preceded in death by his parents, Albert and True (Thorne) Trones; siblings Howard,
Sam, Albert, Peggy (Shirley), Irene (Beck) and Albertine (Almer).
He is survived by his loving wife, Rosalie, and their children Faith and Michael; grandchildren,
Cody Steven, Christopher, Max, and Rosalie, three great-grandchildren, Amirrah, Alayah, and
Paisley, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
There are no services scheduled at this time.
Buswell Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
