Roseanne “Rosie” Marie (Rogness) Wagner, 74, of Alma Center, Wisconsin, passed away
surrounded by loved ones on February 12 th , 2024, in La Crosse, Wisconsin.
Roseanne, known lovingly as “Rose” and “Rosie”, was born to Vernon and Wilva (Marshall)
Rogness on April 13 th , 1949. After graduating from Black River High School, Roseanne
immediately enlisted in the Navy, where she proudly served her country for several years. She
worked alongside her husband at the Nelson Muffler plant for 15 years until her retirement.
In 1972, Roseanne married the love of her life, Robert Wagner, and the two soon started a
beautiful family, welcoming their three children Paulette, Jenell, and Lee.
Roseanne was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She
cherished the time she spent with her family and loved taking walks with her husband, Robert,
and her beloved dog Bandit. Roseanne was also an avid card player and especially enjoyed a
game of chipper with her family. When at home, she could often be found with one of her puzzle
books (crosswords being her favorite), or watching Wheel of Fortune on television, unless a
Packers, Brewers, or Badgers game was on of course! Roseanne was a lifelong sports fan and
never missed a game. On Friday nights, you could often find Roseanne and Robert at Castle
Hill, enjoying the weekly fish fry. Above all else, Roseanne loved her family, and was happy
spending time with them, no matter what the activity.
She is survived by her mother, Wilva, her five siblings: Jan, Jo, Carla, Ron, and Sheryl, her
devoted husband Robert of 51 years, children Paulette (Doug) Mickelson, Jenell (Frank) Lafler,
Lee (Sarah) Wagner, grandchildren Scott, Ashley, Paige, Kristen, Adrianna, and Donavan, ten
great-grandchildren, close family friend Janel Wagner, and her loyal dog Bandit.
Roseanne is predeceased by her father Vernon.
A celebration of life will be held on Friday, February 16 th at the Torgerson Funeral Home in Black
River Falls, Wisconsin. Visitation will begin at 3:00 p.m., followed by military honors, and a
funeral service to follow at 5:00 p.m. Father Peter Kiefer of the Alma Center Immaculate
Conception Catholic Church will officiate.
Roseanne will be greatly missed by her loving family and friends.
