Respiratory virus season is here, and it is important to stay up to date on preventive vaccinations. The Monroe County Health Department (MCHD) currently has a limited supply of respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) vaccine and updated COVID-19 vaccine. Available vaccines include Abrysvo for RSV and the 2024-2025 Spikevax for COVID-19.
The Abrysvo vaccine protects against lower respiratory tract disease caused by RSV in individuals 60 years of age and older, as well as pregnant people between 32-36 weeks gestation.
The 2024-2025 Spikevax COVID-19 vaccine protects against COVID-19 caused by the SARS-CoV-2 virus. MCHD has a limited stock available for individuals ages 12 years and older.
