Authorities in Trempealeau County responded to a serious two-vehicle crash early Wednesday morning on State Road 93 near Linberg Road in the Town of Chimney Rock.
Deputies say the crash happened around 2:51 AM when a southbound passenger car crossed the centerline while rounding a corner and collided head-on with a semi. The car’s driver was trapped and had to be extricated by Independence Fire crews. That driver was taken to a local hospital with serious injuries.
The driver of the semi was not hurt. State Road 93 was shut down for several hours as crews responded and investigated.
Independence Fire and First Responders, Mayo Ambulance, the Trempealeau County Highway Department, and the Wisconsin State Patrol assisted at the scene.
Names of those involved have not been released. The incident is no longer under investigation.
