The Wisconsin Broadcasters Association Foundation has announced the creation of the Young Broadcasters Development Fund, established by WBA Hall of Famers Terry and Sandy Shockley.
The fund is designed to encourage young people to pursue careers in broadcasting and will initially support the WBA’s campus ambassador program at UW-Oshkosh and UW-Whitewater. Two students at each campus serve as ambassadors, connecting with student organizations and promoting WBA resources and events.
The fund is managed by the WBA Foundation and is accepting donations. Donors will be recognized as member grantors.
The foundation says the fund is expected to eventually support additional programs for college students and people beginning careers in broadcasting, including initiatives from the WBA Young Professionals Committee.
One of the upcoming student ambassadors, Chloe DeBois of UW-Oshkosh, recently met Terry and Sandy Shockley at the WBA Summer Conference in Lake Geneva.
