The head of hiring at Tomah Health is pleased with staff hiring and workforce development at the local hospital despite a Wisconsin Hospital Association report that shows health care workforce is struggling to keep pace with surging demand.

Tomah Health Human Resources Director Brenda Reinert says the local hospital is in a unique position when it comes to employment.

Reinert made the comment following the release of the Wisconsin Hospital Association’s twenty-twenty-six (2026) Wisconsin Health Care Workforce Report that said Wisconsin’s health care workforce is growing but struggling to keep pace with surging demand driven by Wisconsin’s aging population and a shrinking labor pool.

Reinert credited the hospital’s ‘Grow Your Own’ program for helping to turn the tide when it comes to future employees.

More than four-hundred-fifty people work at Tomah Health.

The Wisconsin Hospital Association workforce report is available online at W-H-A-DOT-ORG
