The Wisconsin Department of Veterans Affairs is asking the public to help spread some Valentine’s Day cheer to veterans living in state veterans homes. The agency is inviting people to send Valentine’s cards, which will be hand-delivered to veterans, their loved ones, and Gold Star families at facilities in Chippewa Falls, King, and Union Grove, along with residents in the Veterans Housing and Recovery Program.
Since the program began in 2023, more than 80,000 valentines have been sent in from across Wisconsin and the country. Cards must be mailed by January 31 to ensure delivery by Valentine’s Day. They should be addressed to Veteran Valentines, Wisconsin Department of Veterans Affairs, P.O. Box 7843, Madison, Wisconsin, 53707-7843, and the department asks that no candy or snacks be included.
