The details of the crash are as follows:
Several Troopers responded to a single vehicle CMV crash with injury near mile marker 77
westbound. The tractor-trailer unit left the roadway striking the guardrail before entering a ravine
and coming to rest laying on the driver side. The CMV driver was pinned under the door frame of
the cab, unable to get out. A Mayo helicopter was launched and the landing zone set up in the
westbound lanes of traffic. I94 Towing was called to the scene and utilized their rotator to assist in
removing the driver from beneath the cab. Due to a complicated recovery scene, extrication of the
driver took several hours. Traffic on I94 was rerouted to Hwy 53 at the Foster exit. I94 was closed
for approximately three hours due to the crash and difficulty in extricating the driver.
