Wisconsin’s 2024 nine-day gun deer season opens this Saturday, November 23, and runs through December 1. This year’s season starts later than usual, but hunters are optimistic, with colder temperatures and potential snow creating good conditions. As of November 18, more than 560,000 licenses have been sold, including over 205,000 for gun privileges alone.
Hunters are reminded to register all harvested deer electronically by 5 p.m. the day after recovery. For safety, hunters must wear at least 50% blaze orange or fluorescent pink. New hunters must have a hunter education certification to purchase a license.
