The Wisconsin National Guard will hold a deployment send-off this Sunday, November 30th, at 9 a.m. in the main ballroom of Milwaukee’s Baird Center. More than 400 Soldiers from the 1st Battalion, 121st Field Artillery Regiment are preparing for a year-long mission in the Middle East.
Senior Guard leaders will speak at the ceremony, highlighting the unit’s readiness and the sacrifices required during a deployment that begins over the holiday season. Major General Matthew Strub says the Soldiers’ willingness to spend the next year away from their families “speaks volumes about their commitment to duty.”
Members of the press are invited to attend, with check-in beginning at 8:30 a.m. Interviews with leadership and Soldiers will be available after the event.
