Gary Knutson, a dedicated and hardworking farmer whose hands shaped the land, passed
away peacefully at the age of 79 on 4/13/2024.
Born into a family of farmers, Gary took over the family farm at an early age. His commitment to farming was his profession and way of life. He was always willing to lend a helping hand to neighbors in need, whether offering farming advice or assisting with work. Beyond his contributions to farming, Gary worked at American Motors. Once he retired from farming, he worked as a delivery driver for Corporate Courier and Capital Express.
Gary was devoted to family and cherished friends. He found joy in simple pleasures, whether sharing a meal with loved ones, hunting with friends and family, or watching the Packers play a rousing game against the Vikings.
Gary leaves a legacy of humor, hard work, and integrity that will continue inspiring all who knew him. While his physical presence may be gone, his spirit lives on at the farm.
Gary is survived by his loving family, including his Wife Gail Knutson, Daughter and Family:
Teresa Ryan (Jeff) children: Jennifer, Christina, Tyler, Katarina, Jared, Natasha, and Hunter.
Son and Family: Terry Knutson (Kayrn) children: Kaleigh, Bryce, and Ashlyn. Son and Family:
Travis Knutson (Rebecca) children: AJ, Alex and Abri. Daughter and Family Jody Meissner
(Jason) children: Nora, Danika, Harland, and Uriah. Also, ten great grandchildren and countless friends who were blessed to have known him.
Gary is proceeded in death by mother Myrtle Eide (Sherman), father Osborne Knutson, brother Noel Knutson, and granddaughter Melissa Hatfield.
A celebration of Gary’s life will be held at Jensen-Modjeski’s funeral home on 4/19/2024 at 5:30 to 8:00pm. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Hixton Fire Department or Second Chance Girl’s Softball Club in Gary’s memory.
Gary’s legacy will continue to endure, and may his soul rest in eternal peace, knowing that his work on this earth will never be forgotten.
