The Melrose Alliance Church is hosting the 25 th annual “Blessing of the Bikes” on
May 19 th at 12:00 noon. The bikes park on both sides of Hogg Street and the
church parking lot at the corner of Highway 54 and Hogg Street. At noon the
Bikers stand by their bikes and the pastor will pray asking God for safety and
blessing as they travel the roads.
There will be free Bibles, biker patches and other brochures available for Bikers
who want them. Refreshments will be served beginning at 10 a.m. and the service
is open to the public, biker and nonbiker.
If you arrive early join the service at 10:30 a.m. where you will hear Terry
Fleischauer share her story of hope and overcoming whatever was ahead in her
life journey. Terry was born without any forearm or hands and since the age of 2
Terry has had prosthetic arms. She is a dynamic charismatic speaker and started
“over coming life’s challenges” at an early age always keeping up with those around
her.
Bikers Jim and Bonnie Richardson began the “Blessing of the Bikes” in Melrose
after attending one where they heard Lee Downey, who is a “biker evangelist”.
Because of Lee they understood the need to reach out to bikers. The church has
joined in this outreach and been blessed to see many bikers return year after

year.
The Melrose Alliance Church is located at 400 N. Washington St. (Hwy 54) in
downtown Melrose. For more information call Steve Gilson at 608-487-5036.
