A 32-year-old Eau Claire woman has been cited for operating while intoxicated after a Wisconsin State Patrol traffic stop.
State Patrol says Mai Nou Xiong was stopped on Hastings Way near Main Street for a defective headlight and another traffic violation. During the stop, the trooper observed signs of impairment and discovered a child under the age of 16 was riding in the vehicle.
After field sobriety tests, Xiong was taken to a local hospital, where a search warrant was obtained for a legal blood draw. The child was released to a family member.
Xiong was cited for first-offense operating while intoxicated with a minor in the vehicle and for operating without insurance. She was later released to a responsible party.
