On January 6, 2026, at about 8:34 PM, the Jackson County Communications Center received a
driving complaint occurring on US Highway 12 in the Town of Brockway. The suspect vehicle
was reportedly operating at a high rate of speed and driving erratically.
A Deputy located a vehicle matching the description provided and observed both equipment
and moving violations. After observing the traffic violations, the Deputy initiated a traffic stop.
During the traffic stop, the driver was identified as Leroy Woodworth, age 42, of Sparta.
Woodworth displayed signs of impairment and participated in field sobriety testing.
Woodworth was arrested and booked into the Jackson County Jail for Operating While
Intoxicated 7th Offense and a Probation/Parole hold.
At the time of arrest, Woodworth was already on Probation/Parole for felony OWI and was a
registered sex offender.
