Alice met the love of her life, Ken, by chance when he came to her rescue after she found herself
stranded with car trouble. The two quickly fell in love and were married on a rainy day on October 22 nd, Together they raised four children and shared 64 wonderful years together.
Alice began a career working for Central Colony. Alice was a loving, devoted mother who spent many
years as a homemaker taking care of her children. Later Alice would work for the Waunakee School
District as a Lunch Attendant for 28 years where she was soon promoted to supervisor.
Alice and Ken enjoyed taking their family fishing and camping in Canada and northern WI. After
retirement, she and Ken began traveling, venturing as far as beautiful Iceland and tropical Hawaii. As
much as they loved to travel, they loved their home state of Wisconsin too, making frequent visits to the
family cabin in Winter, Wisconsin. Alice enjoyed going to casinos; her favorites being “the ones where
she could win.”
Alice was a snowmobile enthusiast and belonged to the Over the Hill Riders snowmobile club. She was a
member of the American Legion Auxiliary. An accomplished gardener, Alice frequently had an excess of
produce which she and Ken would donate to the local food pantry. Just this year Alice and Ken donated
over 300 pounds of tomatoes. Alice would use any additional produce in her canning or in the delicious
jams and jellies she would make for her family. When not gardening or in the kitchen, Alice could be
