Last night, in Washington D.C. the Alzheimer’s National Dinner was held at the Washington Hilton- in conjunction with the AIM Advocacy Forum (Alzheimer’s Impact Movement). Emceed by actor and Alzheimer’s advocate David Hyde Pierce.
In the course of the evening, Michigan Senator Debbie Stabenow was awarded a lifetime achievement award for all the support given to the Alzheimer’s Association. Stabenow stated she doesn’t have a close relative affected by the disease, but she supports the Alzheimer’s Association because she didn’t understand, in the 80’s, why there wasn’t a medical reason for it or a cure.
