Anita Louise WhiteEagle Winneshiek, age 86, passed away at the family homestead in Black
River Falls, WI, on May 30, 2025, surrounded by her family. She was born December 31, 1938,
to Fredrick WhiteEagle and Annie Winnie Winneshiek in Wittenberg, WI.
After High School she worked multiple jobs. She was a social worker assistant and helped in
multiple areas. Her family would describe her as a jack of all trades. Anita also worked at the
American Indian Center in Chicago. In her spare time she enjoyed playing Bingo at the Casino.
Anita was so proud of her children, grandchildren, and great grandkids. She was overjoyed every
time a new addition came into our lives. She welcomed everyone into her life and home with
unconditional love.
Anita is survived by her children, Ernest (Diana), Albert, Lucinda (Angie, Jacqueline, Chelsea),
Anita (Lena, Elizabeth, Jesse, and Austin), David ( Malya, Dawson, Kaylee, Taliana, Kunu,
Jayden, Alayna, Amira), Theodore (Katalea, Tobyn); 22 great grandchildren; and 3 great great
grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her mom, Annie Winneshiek; father, Fredrick WhiteEagle; and sons,
Warren Austin Naquayouma and Anthony John Naquayouma
Funeral services for Anita will be on June 1, 2025 at the family homestead (N7603 Kingswan
Rd. Black River Falls, WI 54615) at 12:00 p.m. Friends and family are invited to visitation from
10:00 a.m. until time of services. A burial will follow at the Decorah Cemetery.
