On Saturday, April 1, the Trempealeau County Sheriff’s Office had deputies called to a report of an intoxicated man pointing a gun at a group of people and threatening them, including several juveniles, inside a building at 144 West Mill Road in Blair.

When deputies arrived, the suspect had already ran away. During their investigation, it was made known to them that the suspect was an Arcadia man, 59-year-old Douglas Stegerwald.

The deputies executed a search warrant the next day at Stegerwald’s home. During the search, they found a pistol matching the description they were given. Stegerwald was taken into custody. He is facing several charges including recklessly endangering safety.
