Avriel (Perry) Waughtal passed away peacefully on May 31, 2023. She was born December 24, 1927, to
Earl and Adela (Richter) Perry in Mondovi, WI but moved to the Black River area at a young age.
Graduated high school in 1946 and married Delmer Waughtal Sr in 1949. They lived in Brockway raising
6 kids. They owned and operated the Dog N Suds drive-in. She was a girl scout leader, a worthy Matron
of Eastern Star chapter 106 in Black River Falls and worked for Dadco Foods for 33 years. Avriel loved to
travel, shop, take pictures, crotchet, and knit, watch the birds, bake the best treats. She always made
sure all the kids got something to eat.
She is survived by daughters, Sheila (Jim) Leverentz and Becky (Kevin)Holcomb; sons, Delmer Jr (Julie)
Waughtal and David Sr Waughtal; grandchildren, Melanie (Dale) Craig, Heather (Eric) Stubner, Nichole
Waughtal, Kevin (Gwen) Brown, Brandon Waughtal, David Waughtal Jr, Robert Waughtal, and Megan
Waughtal; great grandchildren, Dominic Craig, Hope Palms, Kayleigh Waughtal, Hannah and Hailee
Waughtal; great great grandson, Samuel; sister, Marlene(Steve) Clay; nieces, Cindy Waughtal Dougherty
and Barbra Waughtal-Janacki and nephew, Ross Clay. As well as other family and friends.
She is preceded in death by her husband Delmer; daughter, Debbie; son, Kevin; sister Lenore; Brother,
Oral, and her parents.
Funeral services for Avriel will take place Thursday, June 8, 2023 at the Buswell Funeral Home at 11:00
a.m. Reverend Terry Marg will officiate. Friends and family are invited to visitation from 10:00 a.m. until
time of service. A burial will immediately follow the service at Riverside Cemetery.
