Barbara Jean (Hulberg) Stone, 82, of Arcadia, died on Saturday, November 18, 2023, at St. Anne’s
Extended Healthcare in Winona under the care of Winona Hospice.
Barbara was born on January 14, 1941, in La Crosse to Harold and Helen (Rogers) Barclay. She was
raised in La Crosse and graduated from Logan High School. After graduation, Barb attended nursing
school in Winona, becoming a licensed practical nurse and worked for Lutheran Hospital in La Crosse
and St. Joseph’s Hospital in Arcadia before becoming the nurse for Dr. Lleva in the Arcadia Clinic where
she worked until her retirement. Barb was united in marriage to Miles “Bud” Hulberg on September 12,
1964, at Moody Free Church in La Crosse. The couple was blessed with 36 years of marriage before his
passing in February of 2000. She then married Carl Stone on March 8, 2002 and were married for
almost 20 years. The couple enjoyed singing at various nursing homes and attending church functions
with Reaching Out Ministries. Barbara was a woman of deep faith, living a Godly life and filling her days
serving her community. She enjoyed Bible Studies with the ladies of the church, building connections
and friendships with her brothers and sisters in faith. Her family was of the utmost importance to her,
and she loved every moment she was able to spend with them. She showed a deep sense of pride in
each one of her children’s and grandchildren’s accomplishments and would lend a helping hand in each
of their endeavors whenever she was needed. Though her journey has ended here on Earth, her family
is comforted knowing she can now walk hand in hand on the golden streets of Heaven with all her
departed loved ones.
