Bernard John Feyen (Bernie) 89 passed away peacefully June 14, 2023 at the home of his
daughter Maggie surrounded by family.
 
Bernie was born to John Paul Feyen and Margaret Mary Volek on 22 Janurary 1934 in Onalaska
Wisconsin. Baptized in Saint James Church in La Crosse, Wisconsin in 1934. He graduated high
school, served four years in the Air force achieving the rank of Staff Sargent.
 
He was a longtime resident of Blair, Wisconsin where he and his wife, Lucillle, enjoyed
gardening, the outdoor and Feyen’s Hillside Garden.  They grew flowers, vegetables and
hydroponic tomatoes and sold at the local farmers market.  Bernie and Lucille were active
members of St. Ansgar’s Catholic Church in Blair where they enjoyed their large group of church
friends. 
 
Bernie is survived by his children, Maggie (Mike) Bailey, Joe (Renee) Feyen, Krys (Diana) Feyen,
James Feyen, and David Feyen; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; stepchildren,
Susan (Gene) Kohnert, Sharon Miemietz, John (Janet) Miemietz, and Sally (Jerry) Holldorf; and
two brothers, Bill (Darla Jean) Feyen and Leonard “Corky” (Midge) Feyen.
Bernie was preceded in death by his parents, John and Margaret Feyen; brothers, Richard,
Edward, Gaynard Feyen; and sister, Marlene Feyen.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, June 21, 2023 at St. Ansgar’s
Catholic Church in Blair with Father Irudayanathan Thainase (Father Nathan) officiating.
Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of Mass. Bernie will be laid to rest in St.
Bridget’s Catholic Cemetery, Ettrick. In lieu of flowers the family asks to make a donation to the
Salvation Army.
