Billy “Joe” Dormady of Black River Falls, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully at home
on April 28, 2026.
Bill was born in Neillsville, Wisconsin, to Dannie and Gladys (Laager) Dormady. He
spent much of his life in the Black River Falls area. Bill worked for Union Pacific
Railroad for 42 years. He enjoyed hunting and could often be found enjoying a Pepsi at
a local tavern, visiting with friends.
He is survived by his children, Shelly (Scott) Asmussen and Jason (Bridget) Dormady;
grandchildren, Justin, Duncan, Hayden, Hannah, and Emma; brother, Dick Dormady of
Black River Falls; sister, Mary (Robert) Halverson of Peoria, Illinois; and many nieces,
nephews, extended family members, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Dannie and Gladys Dormady; brothers, Jerry
Dormady and Larry Dormady; and sisters, Karen Reams and Rose Klatt.
A celebration of life will be held this summer; date, time, and location to be announced.
