Black River Falls School District Staff Member Placed on Leave Following Social Media Video

A Black River Falls School District staff member is on administrative leave after a video surfaced on Facebook of the instructor allegedly making a racially insensitive comment toward a Native American student.

Black River Falls School District Superintendent Shelly Severson told News 8 Now Wednesday night the district has placed the staff member on administrative leave and is investigating the incident.

In an email to parents, Severson stated that they are aware of a video that was posted to social media. She further stated, “We are deeply sorry this has happened, and we are committed to the success of all our students and expect all staff members to uphold that commitment each and every day.”

The video does not show the staff members face, but does have her voice recorded.
