Heading into the official start of summer, health care officials in Tomah are asking the public to help prepare for an increased need for blood.
Versiti Blood Center of Wisconsin and Tomah Health have joined for a two-day blood drive May thirty-first (31) and June first (1) from noon to five P-M at Tomah’s Recreation Park.
According to Versiti account representative Emalea Cogdill, the upcoming Memorial Day weekend and increased travel lead to higher blood use, which impacts supplies.
Versiti is the sole blood supplier to over fifty hospital systems in Wisconsin including Tomah Health, the Tomah Veterans Affairs Medical Center and numerous other hospitals in the Coulee Region.
Donors are encouraged to register for a donation time online at Tomah Health – dot – org.
