New numbers show Wisconsin’s job market remained relatively steady in March.
According to the Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development, employment in the state rose slightly over the month to just over 3 million people, though that’s down compared to this time last year.
The state’s labor force participation rate held steady at 64.4 percent — well above the national average.
Total nonfarm jobs also saw a modest increase in March.
Meanwhile, Wisconsin’s unemployment rate edged up slightly to 3.5 percent but remains below the national rate of 4.3 percent.
Officials say the data reflects a stable labor market with continued strength compared to the rest of the country.
