Bonnie Marie Helgeson, 77, of Black River Falls, passed away on Saturday, May 3, 2025, at the
Serenity House in Tomah under the care of Hospice Touch surrounded by family. 
Bonnie was born on July 19, 1947, to Norman and Tilda (Norby) Kolve. She was raised in Rock
Falls and attended school in Durand. She was united in marriage to Mark Helgeson, and the
couple blended their families as one.  Bonnie devoted her life to caring for her family, flowers
and fluffy little dogs. She loved cooking and baking, ensuring there was always enough to go
around.  After raising her children, her grandchildren became the light of her life. In warm
months, Bonnie could often be found outside, tending to her flowers and enjoying nature.  Her
feisty spunk and adoration for her loved ones will be forever treasured in the hearts she
touched. 
She is survived by her husband, Mark; children: Brenda Loveng of Forest Lake, MN, Wayne
Loveng of Mankato, MN, Curtis Loveng of Eleva, Sara Helgeson of Black River Falls, and Jason
(Samantha Fox) Helgeson of Strum; step-children: Michelle (Ray) Moe of Winona, Mike
Helgeson of Arcadia and Matthew (Amy) Helgeson of Arcadia; 28 grandchildren; 14 great-
grandchildren; brothers: David Kolve, Sr. of Northfield, and Norman (Cheryl) Kolve, Jr. of
Elmore, MN; and many friends and neighbors.  
She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Mark Helgeson; granddaughter, Destiny Moe;
daughter-in-law: Dana Loveng; siblings: Charlotte Court, Rolland, Minnie, Iver, Dickie, Duane,
Eugene, Judy Ann, Willette Kolve, and Betty Jane Armitage.
A funeral service will be held at 11 AM on Friday, May 9, 2025, at Lookout Lutheran Church,
rural Mondovi, with Pastor Kirk Mercer officiating. Family and friends are welcome for visitation
from 4-7 PM on Thursday, May 8, 2025, at Edison Funeral Home, Independence, and also one
hour prior to the service at church. Burial will be in the church cemetery. To express online
