The Black River Falls Common Council met Wednesday at City Hall. The Parks and Recreation Department reported a successful turnout for the recent Hoops Tournament. However, the city’s new 100-foot platform fire truck is temporarily out of service due to a faulty hydraulic cylinder. The repairs, covered under warranty, will be handled in Appleton once parts arrive. The council approved the purchase of a 2025 GMC Sierra truck from Gross Motors at a cost of just over $47,000. They also awarded the bid for a compatible snow plow to Universal Truck Equipment for just under $10 grand. This was the second lowest bid. The city is checking with legal counsel, though hope to continue with this purchase citing better proximity for service and parts as a deciding factor.
