Black River Homecare Hospice (BRHH) is in need of comfort shawls and blankets
for patients in our homecare and hospice programs.
Over the years, volunteers have provided hundreds of shawls to help comfort
and provide warmth to Homecare and Hospice patients. Patients receive a shawl
or blanket upon entry to the program.
Patients are truly grateful to receive a comfort shawl or blanket, provided by
generous volunteers. “It feels like getting a warm hug,” said one of our program
patients.
Volunteers who wish to participate in this heart-warming initiative can find
patterns and instructions on the BRMH website at homecare.brmh.net, on the
Hospice page. A slightly bulky yarn works best to provide a soft result for the
patient.
Shawl or blanket donations can be dropped off at Black River Homecare
Hospice, 311 County Highway A, Black River Falls. When donating, please
attach a note with the name and address of the person who made the shawl or
blanket, along with noting the approximate hours that were put into the project.
