Yesterday afternoon just before 6pm the Trempealeau County Dispatch received a report of a car vs Horse and buggy crash on US Hwy 53/121 at Brittani Lane in the Town of Pigeon in Trempealeau County.
Initial investigations indicate that a Jeep Grand Cherokee was traveling southbound on 53/121 when it rear ended a horse and buggy that was waiting for traffic to turn left into a private drive across from Brittani Lane.
There were eight passengers in the buggy, six of whom were juveniles. Two of the juveniles were ejected from the buggy from the impact.
All eight of the passengers in the buggy were injured. These injuries ranged from minor to severe.
One of the juvenile passengers was airlifted to the UW-Madison Hospital for their injuries. The horse pulling the buggy was injured as well.
The lone occupant of the Jeep Cherokee was not injured.
Assisting the Trempealeau County Sheriff’s Office was the Whitehall Police Department, Whitehall Fire Department, Pigeon Falls Fire Department, Tri-County Ambulance Service and Life Link Helicopter.
