Fort McCoy reports a busy year of troop training, hosting nearly 74-thousand soldiers during the fiscal year 2024. While this marks a decline from last year’s just over 86-thousand, officials attribute the drop to other Army commitments impacting training attendance, particularly from the 32nd and 33rd Infantry Brigade Combat Teams, many of whom are currently deployed or engaged in other training rotations. Larry Sharp from Fort McCoy’s Training Coordination Branch emphasized the installation’s diverse training activities, which included weekend battle assemblies and various exercises for active-duty and reserve forces across multiple military branches.
