Cancer patients and survivors now have a local group they can look to for support. The Partners of Black River Memorial Hospital announced a new cancer support group Friday. It’s open to anyone who’s experienced cancer, currently undergoing treatment, and caregivers. Participants will be able to share their experiences along with learning coping skills and how to better communicate with family and friends about their illness.
Support Group Leader, Kathleen Clemons says the sessions are intended to be low-key and stress-free. The Cancer Support Group will meet the fourth Thursday evening of every month from 5:30 to 6:30 in Black River Memorial Hospital’s Oak Room. A virtual option is available.
To register, visit brmh.net/cancersupport. If you choose the virtual option, a Zoom meeting invite will be sent to you before the meeting date. If you would like more information, please contact Kathleen Clemons at 715-299-0870 or kathleen.clemons@ho-chunk.com.
